Genetic engineering and gene therapy are two closely related technologies that involve altering the genetic material of organisms. The lecture will elaborate and distinguish between the aim of gene therapy to correct genetic defects in order to prevent or cure genetic diseases, and the aim of genetic engineering to modify genes beyond what is normal.
